Introducing Thomas
I’m excited to announce the arrival of the newest member of our family. Thomas arrived on March 25th, 2018 at 8:30pm. He was due on St. Patrick’s Day, but of course he took his sweet time and made me wait an extra 8 days for him to show up. And let me tell you, those extra days when you are 9 months pregnant are looooong, haha.
I’m posting this update on his one month “birthday” so to speak because life with a newborn is unpredictable, exhausting, and wonderful all at the same time. Sleep deprivation is no joke, but we’re slowly finding our groove and I’m trying to enjoy every single little moment – even the ones at 3am! The weather here has ranged from snowstorm to warm spring and then back to gross again, so we’ve been hiding out in our cozy little condo. Both sets of grandparents have already stopped by to spoil and take care of us and Trevor is officially back to work again, so now it’s just Thomas and me during the daytime. Right now my favourite time of day is the morning when we still get to hang out with Trevor before he goes to work. I get to enjoy breakfast, feed Thomas and then we both go down for our morning naps, haha. As much as I want to get things done around our place, I’m truly trying to take the whole “sleep when the baby sleeps” idea to heart and it has made a world of a difference for my sanity. Besides, it’s not like the dishes or laundry are going anywhere. 🙂
Thank you so much to everyone for the lovely messages and well wishes on social media. Reading everyone’s lovely words have meant the world to us.
I’m new to your blog so let me say CONGRATULATIONS and what a handsome boy. From experience (I had 4 boys) they are a boy and a blessing. Enjoy all the years to come.
Oh my gosh he is so precious!! Congratulations!!! Enjoy the newborn phase, I miss the newborn phase despite the lack of sleep. I miss the back of his newborn head haha.
